Your Reiki session should always be catered toward your most profound healing. That’s why finding what works best for you is critical. Below are 8 reiki tips to try before and after your next reiki session.
Thirty minutes before your session check in with how your body is feeling and anything you are noticing with regards to emotions, thoughts or physical sensations.
Tip: You may also want to reflect on what you want to share with your practitioner before you begin.
You want to be as comfortable as possible and not distracted by hunger or thirst.
Tip: Avoid eating anything to heavy beforehand, as you don’t want all of your body’s energy directed toward digesting while you’re receiving your healing.
3. Get Comfy
Most practitioners will have you laying down for the majority of your session, so comfort is critical for being open to taking on the Reiki energy.
Tip: Since shoes are removed during the session bring socks so that your feet don’t get cold.
4. Use The Restroom
You’ll also want to use the restroom before your session to be sure you are as comfortable as possible.
Take at least 15-20 minutes after your session to meditate, lie down, go for a walk or even take a nap.
Tip: Try not to book or schedule anything immediately after your meeting.
It’s important to hydrate after doing any type of energy work so be sure to drink 1-2 glasses of water after your session.
Tip: Try adding electrolytes to your water as this can help replenish your body.
Energy work is often hungry work, and you may find yourself hungry immediately after your session. Be sure to eat a healthy snack or meal afterward.
Tip: Eating can also help ground the body.
Try journaling any insights you have after your session.
Remember, your Reiki session should always be catered toward your most profound healing, so find what works best for you!
